Gnaraloo Turtle Conservation Program - Final Report 08/09 PDF Print E-mail

The abundance of sea turtles has been declining worldwide and protection is critical of significant nesting and breeding areas such as the turtle rookeries found along the Gnaraloo coastline. Under guidance of expert in-house environmental advice as well as direction by the Department of Environment and Conservation WA (DEC), Gnaraloo has developed a tailor made research and conservation program that involves daily monitoring of key sea turtle rookeries at Gnaraloo including data collection on nests, false crawls, predation and hatching success.
