Gnaraloo is proud to be nominated
Gnaraloo is proud to be nominated for the KABC’s Clean Beach Awards 2010 under the Environmental Protection Category for 3Mile Lagoon and for Gnaraloo Bay.
Gnaraloo lies adjacent to a number of marine sanctuary zones and is passionate about its protection efforts of native fauna, flora and marine life in the area. Gnaraloo is managing a sea turtle conservation program to monitor and protect breeding areas of Loggerhead Turtles (Caretta caretta), Hawsbill Turtles (Eretmochelys imbricata) and Green Turtles (Chelonia mydas) (all endangered or vulnerable under the IUCN Red List). So far this year, breeding at Gnaraloo has been very successful with over 500 nests!

Gnaraloo hopes that the Clean Beach Award nominations will help to educate the many guests in the region about the beauty and fragility of the Ningaloo coastline and to promote and encourage people to visit the wonderfully diverse eco system on offer on this Coral Coast.
